Miami's Daequan Cook outlasted Orlando's Rashard Lewis in a head-to-head showdown to capture the National Basketball Association 3-point Shootout title here.

The showdown of sharpshooters from beyond the NBA's 3-point arc was part of the festivities leading up to Sunday's NBA All-Star Game.

Cook defeated Lewis 19-7 in a one-on-one shootout for the title after the two were level in the Final Round of the event, each finishing on 15 points to eliminate two-time defending champion Jason Kapono, who finished on 14.

In the first round, Cook also finished on top with 18 to 17 for Lewis, 16 for Toronto's Kapono. Eliminated in the first round were Atlanta's Mike Bibby on 14 and Indiana's Danny Granger and San Antonio's Roger Mason on 13.

Cook became the third Miami player to win the title, following Kapono in 2007 and Glen Rice in 1995. Past winners of the event include Boston legend Larry Bird, Serbian star Peja Stojakovic and Germany's Dirk Nowitzki.
