Tracy McGrady dazzled in his New York Knicks debut Saturday, but his 26 points weren't enough to lift his new team to victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Kevin Durant scored 36 points for the Thunder, who downed the Knicks 121-118 in overtime to notch their eighth straight victory.
Durant sank the go-ahead shot with 16 seconds left as he posted his 27th straight game with at least 25 points.
That's the longest streak since Allen Iverson scored at least 25 for 27 straight games in 2001.
McGrady started in his first game for the Knicks since they acquired him on Thursday at the trade deadline from Houston, where had barely played this season.
Playing for the first time since December, McGrady played 32 minutes and was on the bench for most of overtime.
Russell Westbrook finished with 31 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds for the Thunder.
David Lee had 30 points and 10 rebounds for the Knicks, who blew a six-point lead late in regulation as they tumbled to their sixth straight defeat.
Eddie House, also acquired at the trade deadline, scored a season-high 22 points.
McGrady hadn't scored 25 points in a game since January 9, 2009, when he had 26 for Houston at Oklahoma City.
About a month later, he had season-ending microfracture surgery on his knee. bb
