Veteran NBA swingman Devean George was traded from the Toronto Raptors to the Golden State Warriors for Italian guard Marco Belinelli in a deal announced Thursday.
The Canadian club also sent cash to the Warriors as part of the deal that also brought Golden State a playmaker in George, a 10-year veteran who averaged 3.4 points and 1.8 rebounds a game for the Dallas Mavericks last season.
George, 31, spent the past three NBA seasons with the Mavericks.
The Warriors selected US college standout Stephen Curry in June's NBA Draft and plan to use Monta Ellis at point guard, but George's versatility will allow him to work in several spots in the fast-faced attack favored by Golden State coach Don Nelson.
